During this class you will learn to create the biomorphic patterns and underlying geometric structures associated with Dome of the Rock tile compositions. We will look at the different patterns found throughout the monument. We will explore these patterns by constructing them using ruler, pencil and compass. I will provide clear, step by step instructions to ensure your success in the class.

The symbolism, historical significance and and spiritual importance of some motifs will be shared at the beginning of the class as a part of a short presentation that will allow students to become acquainted with the subject matter in a deeper way.

This is a part of 6 weeks of Turkish Pattern Tuesday classes. You can participate in one or as many as you like from the series!
